Always Learning

I've started taking online photography classes from CreativeLive (I'll include a link at the end of this post if you're interested in checking them out. I believe the link includes a 15% off coupon.

The reason I selected CreativeLive is because, as the name suggests, they have live training classes you can tune in to that are totally free of charge. But they also allow you to purchase a recording of the classes which you can watch at your own pace, as many times as you want.

In one of the classes (Beginner Landscape Editing by Matt Kloskowski) the instructor was editing an image taken at Oxbow Bend in the Grand Tetons.

I visited the Tetons back in October 2008 with my original digital camera, a Nikon d70, and had an image taken at Oxbow Bend that I was never really crazy about, so I decided to edit mine while he was going through the steps of editing his.

Gotta say - the image never looked better. I was able to bring out what I always wanted to see in the image, but was never really able to achieve.

So, I guess this is my recommendation to check out theses classes. Most of them have a free chapter you can watch to help you decide if it's what you're interested in.
